Shoe Mystery

I was trying on some shoes last week.  A pair of everyday/work flats in my usual 6 1/2 but they felt loose. A bit strange since i have been the same shoe size since i was in my teens.  I tried on a size 6 and it fit well.  I also tried on a pair of wedges and again the 6 1/2 was too big but the 6 fit perfectly.  So how could that be that after 10 years my feet shrunk half a size???? Is this normal...did it happen to anyone else out there???

The days of Spring Break 2012 are almost upon us and how appropriate that MSNBC found a clip of the first spring breakers to be televised. Way before MTV and wet t-shirt contests...they had beer, bikinis and did the twist for 10 hours a day. I love it! I too can't wait to "do the twist" in South Beach in 10 days (who's counting anyway).

Celebrity Inspiration: Leighton Meester

I'm going to tell you a secret...I have never ever seen an episode of Gossip Girl.  They are probably on their 19th season and have a cult following but the concept never appealed to me.  However, I do think some of their fashion choices are worthy of noticing.  Although this look was put together for Leighton by a stylist on the show I think she looks great, especially the bright neon heels in the dead of New York winter.  Here is my priced down version:

Quick note on the status of the eggs: unfortunately that batch did not produce cute little angel fish.  We moved the plant which had the eggs to a different tank and after 48 hours the eggs turned milky white.  Another 24 hours later nothing happened.  Disappointing...but the first batch is rarely successful.  One of the possibilities is that the male fish didn't have a chance to fertilize the eggs before we moved them.  However in the meantime 2 more pairs have formed.  Love must be in the air!  One of the pairs (not the first one, it takes about 2 to 4 weeks for that pair to lay eggs again) laid eggs on the filter. They were being very protective and wouldn't allow any other fish to come close.  This time we decided not to move the eggs out of the tank and let the parents take care of them.  Instead we'll set up dividers to protect the baby eggs from being eaten by other fish.  Tick tock...only 2 days to go before possible hatching.


Did you know there is a line of shoes called Angelfish?...i didn't...they look a lot like boat shoes!
