Reading Right Now

Just finished reading my first book by Jeffery Deaver.  It was published way back in 2008 and since then has gotten a few different covers. A fictional novel about a tough Wisconsin deputy being pursued by two professional hit men inside a huge state park in the middle of the night. The majority of the book describes the pursuit and escape in great detail with lots of turns and unexpected shockers. There is tremendous buildup and climax, but the book doesn't end there, instead the story continues on and that didn't sit well with me. The ending seems almost as an after thought, a need by the author to tie up all the loose ends created throughout the bulk of the book. Nevertheless, I am still going to recommend this book as a good read because it was well written, a bit unbelievable at times, but still very engaging. I'm intrigued enough to read another novel from this bestselling author.
